Privacy
This policy covers the iPhone game Live or Blank: Shell Roulette (“Live or Blank”), the server it uses for online play, and this website. They are run by DDTech Solutions LLC (“we”).
In short
- Playing against the Purser sends nothing anywhere. It all stays on your phone.
- Online features use an anonymous profile: a random ID and a random two-word name. No sign-in, no email, no real name.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we don’t sell or share your data.
- You can delete your online profile in the game: Title → Settings → Forget my online name.
On your phone
Live or Blank keeps these in the app’s own storage on your phone: your settings, which tutorial lines you’ve seen, the night or dive you’re in the middle of (so you can come back to it), your best Deeper score, and whether you’ve opened Deeper. If you use online features, it also keeps your online profile’s ID, name and token, and the match you’re seated at.
None of this is sent to us except as described below. It is removed when you delete the app, and like other app data it can be part of your device backups.
Live or Blank reads no device identifiers, no advertising identifier, no location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone, and asks for no permissions.
Online play, the Deeper board and invites
The first time you open Play someone, start a Deeper dive while online, or open the board, our server makes you an anonymous profile: a random ID, a randomly drawn two-word sea name (for example “Rusted Gull”), and a token your phone uses to prove it’s you. Names are drawn, not typed, and aren’t unique.
When you use these features we receive:
- In a match: your moves, your emotes and how you hold the gun, so the server can referee and show them to your opponent.
- In a ranked Deeper dive: every move of the run, to check it, and the pot you bank if you surface. The moves are checked and then discarded; the best pot is kept for the board.
- Invites: the six-letter codes you create or type.
Other players see your drawn name, and in a match your moves, emotes and gun. If your best pot is in the top 50, the board shows your name, your number of sets and your pot.
How long we keep it

Deleting your data
In the game, go to the title, then Settings → Forget my online name. This deletes your profile, your place on the board and your ranked dives from our server. The game tells you plainly if it couldn’t reach the server, and in that case nothing is deleted until you try again.
Forget doesn’t remove records that expire on their own: matches from the last 7 days, an invite code from the last 30 minutes, and server request logs (up to 7 days). Please use Forget before deleting the app: because names are drawn at random and aren’t unique, we can’t tell which profile is yours afterwards.
Hosting
Our game server runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request information, such as IP addresses and app details, to deliver and protect the service, and keeps request logs for up to 7 days. We don’t use these logs to identify, profile or track you.
This website runs on our own server, rented from Hetzner in Germany. It keeps no visitor logs. Its domain name is served by Cloudflare’s DNS.
This website has no analytics, no advertising, no cookies and no third-party embeds. Its fonts, images and videos are served from the site itself.
Sharing an invite
When you share an invite, your phone’s share sheet sends the code and a link to this website to whoever you choose. We don’t see who you send it to. Opening the link is an ordinary visit to this website.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier.
- No analytics or crash-reporting tools in the app.
- No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of your data.
Children
Live or Blank isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. The online profile holds no contact details or real name.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
